Retiring Accessories & Redesigned Ink Pads
I have had a couple of days to think through and process the news that was released in the wee hours of the night on Tuesday/Wednesday so I am going to explain things to the best of my knowledge to you ladies!
There is a very long list of retiring accessories this year but as I had already explained to all of those who were at my classes last week and in my email -- Stampin' Up! is downsizing their catalog and focusing on the essentials! This is a good thing because the catalog will not be so overwhelming and we can start to purchase things that are more versatile! As I expressed to all of you before -- change is and can be a good thing! I am going to follow in the foot steps of Stampin' Up! and downsize too! So YES....there are a lot of things on the retiring accessories list! And if you want these things you really need to act now because many things are already GONE!! Email me promptly or go to my website and get those orders placed before you miss out on something you want.
NOW to the redesigning of the Classic Ink Pads.........I found out about this change at the same time you did and therefore I was just as shocked as you were. I will repeat what I said above -- change can and will be a good thing! The change to the ink pads is being made to enhance our stamping experience. It will give us better coverage onto the stamps, be easier to ink up our stamps and hold the ink better then the previous ink pads. The surface of the ink pad will no longer be cloth -- it will be a foam. I will not be replacing all my ink pads right away but slowly over time. The refill inks will be the same (with a small number of ink color needing to be reformatted -- I will explain this in class because it is too difficult to type all of that info out) and you can reink your old ink pads with the same ink. There will be a learning curve between the two pads and we will go over this in class as well!
I love Stampin' Up! and there product!! That is a fact that hasn't changed and I don't see it changing anytime in the near future! We will work through the changes and come out on the other end better for it -- I am confident about this! So take a deep breath and relax! If you have any questions please contact me and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability!
I look forward to our May classes and we will talk about all of these things then! So be creative -- make a card and I will see each of you soon! :)
Be blessed and know that I treasure each of my Stampin' ladies!!
Hugs!! Kim

SU! Retirement List!
Stampin' Up! has released it's Retiring Stamps List! It is long and you will want to check it carefully. Remember SU! is moving the release of their new catalog to June 1st and they are making a lot of changes this year. This link should take you to my website where the list is posted.
Kim's SU! Website
Kim's SU! Website
I do want to explain some things to you about the NEW direction the company seems to be going. There are a LOT of sets on this list - A LOT!!!! It is longer then I have ever seen before!! Having said that -- it is the reason!! They are trying to make SU! less overwhelming to people. Making less sets but more sets that you will be able to use in a variety of ways -- more versatile. This is the one thing that I have always said to my customers - before you select a set think about how many different occasions you could use the set for -- Can you make birthday, thank you, thinking of you, sympathy, etc cards with this set? If you think so then it is a good investment! So unless it is a set you love, can't live without and will use -- think and spend wisely. Well that is what SU! is now telling us and asking us to share with our customers. The catalog will be a lot more like a normal catalog you get in the mail in the future. It will be much smaller (32 pages less or 50% less items) this year and it will not be as expensive. It will consist of "core products" - things you will use all year long. I will be able to send you the catalog through the mail directly from SU! like I have been able to do with the mini catties in the past. The two seasonal catalogs will have "hot trends and seasonal stamps & accessories" in it and it will be the size of the regular catalog but include a lot more product in them and be available for a longer period of time then the mini of the past. All the stamps will be available in clear mount except a few background stamps and a la cart stamps. The retiring stamps will be available until 5/31. The retiring accessories list will be available on 4/25 and it is "while supplies last" or 5/31. The new catalog will start at noon (MT) on June 1st.
Remember that the In Colors for 2010-2012 will be retiring so if there is a color that you LOVE and you want to stock up on -- I would do it SOON because these products are considered accessories & they will go quickly!! I think I have covered everything but if you have questions please let me know!
I will VERY soon be going through all of my stamps sets and weeding out a lot of them. I will make a list and offer them to you at a discounted price. I am going to follow Stampin' Up!'s lead and make my collection smaller but more versatile! So there will be a lot of items that I am going to part with. When the list has been complied I will email it out to all of you that purchase product from me! In the mean time please take time to go to the Retiring List and make sure you don't miss out on a stamp set that you can't live without! ;)
Let me know if you have any questions!! Kim

A Year in Review
Since it has been so long since I have posted anything I thought I would post some of the cards we have made in classes this year but first I will post the cards for the upcoming classes in January! I think (might change my mind) these will be the cards for the January classes. Classes will be held on January 19th, 20th, and 21st.
This is for Valentine's day if you would like but also makes a great anniversary or wedding card!
This card can be made into a beautiful card for any occasion -- birthday, sympathy, get well, thank you -- you can add the greeting of your choice!!
This card is a masculine card that can be used to give to those guys in the your life or makes a wonderful sympathy card!
Now for a little review! :)
Some of the fabulous cards we made in class this past year! I love spending time with each of you in class and want to thank you all for your loyal & cherished friendship!! I wish each of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a very blessed New Year!!
